DOGs beaten in Hassocks

Being the annual golf society challenge between the club handicap dominated Screwballs of the Keymer and Hassocks Sports and Social Club and the nomadic amateurs of the Decidedly Ordinary Golfers Society (DOGS)

So goodbye Hassocks golf, hello quality housing!!

it was tight - very tight

But in the end the edge of club membership handicap shone through over the spirited amateur travelling DOG, and Screwballs came through with a 12 1/2 to 11 1/2 win. Next year people, next year. results attached for those wishing to check the maths!

In a complete reversal of last year where the DOGs players won all the individual prizes, , this year the plaudits go to the screwballs players - except best score

For the most stableford points congrats go to Jason G for puling himself together and not acting like a spoilt be-atch a storming individual round gathering up 41 points secured a bottle of wine. breakfast for two at the purple carrot and two tickets to the next Ha HA Hassocks Comedy event (17 May).

a close 2nd was his opponent Neil B who managed to console himself with 39 points, a nearest the pin win (6th), a longest drive win (18th) AND a nearest the pin in 2 win (16th) - gathering 2 bottles of wine, breakfast for 2 at the PC and 3 tickets to Ha HA Hassocks.

Brad hit a monster on the 11th to grab 3 tickets to the comedy on the 17 May, Darren P dribbled two foot further than all others to take the longest drive (18th) and get to enjoy 2 breakfasts at the purple carrot, and a final bottle of wine went to ...I really can't remember...... for his efforts on the 9th - nearest the pin in 2

Next up is the April Showers and a return to Eastbourne Downs on the recommendation of Brad (and Dad) who tell me it has been well looked after over the last couple of years!
